About Me
Hi there! Welcome to my exciting world of print, pattern and fashion!
My name is Khalalelo, I am a multi-media textiles and fashion designer. My background started in Fashion as I graduated from College Lasalle in Montreal in 2013. I then worked in the fashion industry for 2 years as menswear designer with Stone Rose before relocating to Australia. I completed 2 years in Textile Design at RMIT in Melbourne. During my time abroad I have freelanced my pattern designs to various clients in Fashion and the Interior industry. I am now currently living in Toronto and will be completing my Thesis in Material Arts and Design at OCAD.
My style is innovative and trendy, suited towards both contemporary fashion and textile industries. My work is fresh, classy and exciting, which reflects my own personality.
I have a passion for sustainability and being socially aware of our impacts as designers.
What I do
I work with both traditional and digital design, prints and patterns on paper, textiles, and other surfaces too. I mainly work by hand, using pencil, paper and color to come up with initial sketches to develop into designs, then translate those onto digital methods. I design florals, geometrics, abstracts, watercolors, and work closely with clients depending on their needs.
I can conceptualize and design fashion prints for one off bespoke products, as well as seasonal collections. Traditional yet on trend, and with a unique sense of flavor. A lot of my inspiration comes from my travels around the globe, as well as designs in nature and cultural architecture, from the smallest wildflower to the grandest edifice, I strive to embrace my passions in all my works.
